Fernando Benjamin Cabret III Dies at 36

Fernando Benjamin Cabret III

Fernando Benjamin Cabret III, also known as “Benny,” of Estate Golden Rock died on Jan. 16. He was 36 years old.

He is survived by his mother, Verna L. Forbes-Dowling; Dad, Darwin D. Dowling; biological father, Fernando B. Cabret Jr.; companion, Lurlyn Paddie; daughters: Tiana K. Knight, Kyleia M. Cabret and Nevaeh A. Crump; sons: Justice T. Williams and King M.C. Cabret; sisters: Darisse Dowling, Daynia Dowling, Deanne Dowling and Lucy Cabret; brother, Benjamin Cabret; niece, Avanae Hurtault; nephew, Rohaan Lawrence; great-grandmother, Paula Ramos Cabret; and great uncles: John Brady and Roy Thomas.

He is also survived by great aunts: Daphne Andrews, Dorothea Vivican, Myrtle Daniel and Maria Cabret (aka Delia); aunts: Aurelia Estrill, Elaine Springer, Rita Johnson, Annie Andaluz, Monette Tracy, Evelle, Helen, Rosanna and Janette Forbes, Maria Gibbs Pinder, Genevieve Thomas, Ruthie Perkins and Ella Jean Forbes; uncles: Floyd Henderson, Patrick James, George Cabret, Howard, Marvin, Melvin, Dennis and Tony Forbes, Delzin G. Johnson and Mario Perkins; brother-in-law, Randy Lawrence; and godparents: Rita James-Johnson and Ella Jean Forbes.

More survivors include godchildren: Isaiah Smith, Zalaiah Smith, Zalaijah Smith and Avanae Hurtault; and special friends: Myles Sperber, Felix “Lito” Parrilla, the Yusef family, Michael Thurland, Miguel Santos, Robert Jules, Roberto Clarke, Javan Benjamin, Derrick Stewart, Jamel Morris, Chris Murray, Mad Max, Jerry Freeman, Loren and Lorenzo Daniels, Le ‘Tod and Cedric King, Nigel Jackson, Seaside Market & Deli, Kurt Vialet, Glen Lynch, Alvin Lawrence, The Md’s Café family, Randy Seeram (aka Trini) and Elroy Bascombe Jr. (aka Junie).

A viewing will take place at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.

The family requests that those in attendance wear a shade of blue.
