G-Clef Music Academy successfully launched its VI Youth String Orchestra earlier this year. After the summer break, G-Clef has been eager to continue and expand the orchestra with new members.
The Academy is opening up membership through a scholarship opportunity. Interested youth, ages 8 to 17, can apply for a scholarship to become a member of the VI Youth String Orchestra. Scholarship recipients receive free weekly sectionals/rehearsals to learn how to play the violin, viola, cello or bass violin and participate in orchestra performances.
Each applicant must audition, have some music experience, and is subject to qualifications. The first sectional/rehearsal for the season will be at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 (Veterans Day) at G-Clef Music Academy in Mandela Circle.
