Gifft Hill School Starry Night Auction to Benefit Scholarship Fund

Starry Night Auction is slated for March 23

Gifft Hill School will be holding its annual auction again this year with the theme “Starry Night,” which reinforces the bright futures made possible by the gift of education. Auction proceeds benefit the Gifft Hill School Scholarship Fund, which provides financial aid to over 80 percent of the school’s 150 students in preschool through 12th grade on St. John.

“The auction will be a celebration of everything that makes Gifft Hill School thrive: board, faculty, students, parents, community, donors and our islands,” said Beth Jones, director of advancement. “For 32 years, this event has raised funds for the Scholarship Fund, which is even more important now as our families navigate the recovery. We are grateful to be part of this amazing community and fortunate to be on St. John surrounded by an incredible natural resource that expands the classroom experience for our students daily.”

The auction, the 33rd in the school’s history, will be held at a beautiful villa in Chocolate Hole, owned by Glen and Jo Ann Hall, on Saturday, March 23. The event will include an online silent auction that will close before the event starts as well as a silent auction at the event and a fun-filled, entertaining live auction. About Gifft Hill School
Founded in 1978, Gifft Hill School believes in using the school’s gardens, the island’s National Park and the ocean as living laboratories to inspire and engage its students with creative, project-based instruction. As a member of National Association of Independent Schools, the non-profit school provides education to over 150 students from St. John and St. Thomas in preschool through 12th grade on St. John. After the storms, Gifft Hill School waived tuition and opened its doors beyond its student body to offer a sense of normalcy to as many children as possible, and to support parents as they rebuild. In the 2018-2019 school year, thanks to philanthropic support, over 80 percent of Gifft Hill’s student body receives financial aid as the community continues to recover.
