Woodys Seafood Saloon, above, whose customers generally spill out onto the sidewalk during the bars popular happy hour, stands eerily silent at the start of happy hour, 3 p.m., on Good Friday, April 6.
The V.I. Code states distilled alcohol is not allowed to be sold at bars and restaurants in the territory on Good Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. V.I. Police Department officials enforce the ban to include all alcoholic beverages including wine and beer. The liquor was flowing after 4 p.m. at establishments across the island.
Quiet Mon Pub, above, also stood empty because of the V.I. law. The seven-hour span is the only time the law calls for prohibition.
