The Department of Public Works (DPW) is informing the community of road work taking place on St. John. The Great Cruz Bay Watershed project includes nine site locations (See Map):
- Site 1 – Century Road – includes road reconstruction.
- Site 2 – Christian Road – includes reconstruction of concrete road, geotextile, and drainage improvements.
- Site 3 – Pocket Money Road – includes road reconstruction, drainage improvement (swale), and geotextile.
- Site 4 – Gift Hill/ 9-10 Rem. – road reconstruction, geotextile, swale replacement, slope stabilization, and concrete replacement.
- Site 5 – Pastory – includes replacement of culvert/drainage improvement, reconstruction of gravel road, and geotextile.
- Site 6 – Pastory – includes road reconstruction and geotextile
- Site 7 – Pastory – includes road reconstruction and geotextile
- Site 9 – Gift Hill/ 78 Susannaberg – includes road reconstruction, geotextile, swale and slope stabilization.
This project was awarded to contractor Island Roads Corporation and is scheduled to be completed by May 2023. The funding source is FEMA- PA.
