Hayden Barry Dies at 81

Hayden Barry

Hayden Barry of Estate Upper Love died on Dec. 28. He was 81 years old. Hayden “Dods” Barry was a devoted husband for over 55 years, loving father and constant gardener.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lennard Barry; mother, Emma Laurina Barry (née Sohraindo); brothers: Kent Barry and Clifton Barry; mother-in-law, Anastasie Laudat; special friend, Andrew Laudat; and nephew, Kenric Hurtault.

 He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Barry (née Laudat); son: Randolph Kenny Barry; daughter-in-law, Catherine LeBlanc-Barry; grandchildren: Ken Barry, Arianna Barry, Holly Barry and Angelique Barry; sisters: Joan Ruby Hurtault and Marie Austrie; aunt, Josephine Lylith Barry in New Jersey; and in-laws: Anastasie LeBlanc, Sabina Barry in the UK, Edith Gabriel, Theresa Bougouneau, Helene Williams, Skefington Stedman, Bernadette Laudat, Father Elveau Augustine, Lucian Stedman, Benedick Laudat, Claytus Bruney, Edgar Austrie, James Esprit, Clementina Athanaze and Randolph Laudat.

He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Cedric Durand, Lester Hurtault, Coretta “Kiki” Hurtault, Vaughn Hurtault, Krystal Hurtault, Randa Barry, Janet Johnson (née Barry) in the UK, Garth Daniel in Florida, Marra Austrie, Marva Austrie, Mario Austrie, Rakeem Durand, Cedrina Durand, Nathaniel Durand, Lester Hurtault Jr., Annabelle Hurtault, Theo Hurtault, Savannah Hurtault, Vaughn Hurtault Jr., Aurora Hurtault, Nyla Hurtault, Moran Bougouneau, Clariscia Haynes, Derrick Bougouneau, Denley Williams, Denise Williams, Denylia Williams and Khasim Williams.

Other survivors include cousins: Stacy Charles, Sylvia Thomas, Annitta Edward, Phillip Derrick Bruney, Gifford Barry, Maudrina Barry in Canada, Jemma Barry and Clemencia “Lady” Daniel (née Barry) in Dominica; beloved family members: the Barry, Laudat, Stedman, Hurtault, Laronde, Sohraindo, and Giraudel families; special friends: Yuca and Barbie Munchez-Nurse, Martin Massicot, Petersen Massicot, Anthony John, Christopher Rolle, Gideon Hurtault, Vernon and Consuela Matthew, Ursula and Phillipe Philbert, Oliver Marcelle, Ruthine Matthew, Bernadette Leon, Maria and Antoine Baptiste, Jason Royer, Lewis Laudat and Vanya St. Hilaire; as well as many other dear family and friends too numerous to mention but not forgotten.

 The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 22, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
