Help Solve Homicides for Cash Reward

A cash reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for past homicides.

On May 6, VIPD was dispatched to the area of Commandant Gade on St. Thomas regarding shots being fired in the area.

Responding officers traveled to the area and upon their arrival, contact was made with an unresponsive Black female who appeared to have suffered at least one gunshot wound to her body. Emergency Medical Technicians also arrived at the scene and checked the female for vital signs and they concluded that the female did not have any signs of life.  The next of kin identified the female as 37-years old Taurian Deveaux, police said.

On Feb. 4, 2020, the Major Crime Unit was dispatched to the area of Pine Peace on St. John in reference to a homicide. Upon arrival, units observed an unresponsive Black male slouched over in the driver’s seat of a dark-colored vehicle. The man appeared to have sustained gunshots about his body. Emergency Medical Technicians, who were on scene, concluded that the man did not have any vital signs. The man was identified by the next of kin as 32-year-old Jahul Ward, police said.

On Nov. 8, 2018, police discovered the body of 67-year-old Joseph Mark Graffis in the Little La Grange area of Frederiksted on St. Croix after a welfare check was conducted as requested by a concerned citizen. Neighbors became concerned after hearing several shots fired two days earlier. Graffis was discovered near his home with what appeared to be bullet wounds to his body, police said.
