Husband, Wife Both Face Charges in Domestic Dispute

On Tuesday at approximately 2:42 a.m., the Leander Jurgen Command officers were dispatched to the area of Chocolate Hole, St. John, in reference to a domestic disturbance, the V.I. Police Department reported. 

Upon the officers’ arrival, contact was made with a husband and wife who stated that at  approximately 1 a.m., the wife arrived home and was questioned by the husband as to why  she was out late. The husband and wife said a verbal altercation ensued that later  escalated into a physical altercation involving a weapon causing injuries, according to the report.  

Due to conflicting statements, both were arrested based on the domestic violence statue of the Virgin Islands. Santa Nunez, 47, and Ramon Degracia, 46, were charged with third-degree assault, third-degree domestic violence, and simple assault. Both were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending their advice of rights hearings.
