The Virgin Islands Department of Labor (VIDOL) has provided an update on the status of benefit payments to Unemployment Insurance (UI) claimants. This update comes after a territory-wide issue caused by a technical glitch resulted in the interruption of UI benefit payments. The UI Division will provide printed checks to claimants. They will be disbursed in the mail starting Thursday, Dec. 19.

Once again, the Department of Labor apologizes for the disruption during the holiday season and thanks the public for cooperating during this difficult time. Commissioner Gary Molloy continues to monitor the issue to prevent future interruptions.

For more information, VIDOL encourages employers and employees to contact UI offices directly and connect with applicable representatives. For St. Croix offices, call 773-1994; for the St. Thomas office, call 776-3700.
