Margaret Lindora Southwell Williams, 86, born in the Dominican Republic and residing on St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., died Sept. 21, in Charlotte, N.C.
A viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, at Turnbull’s Funeral Home.
A second viewing will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, Oct. 11, at the St. Thomas Assembly of God Church. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Arrangements are by Turnbull’s Funeral Home. Interment will be at Western Cemetery No. 3.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother: Ravely Southwell and Constancia Chinnery-Southwell; two brothers: Paul and Simeon Southwell; a son, Conroy Robeson Williams; and a grandson, Kazemde Williams. She has two surviving sisters: Elfreda Southwell and Leola Reid.
The family settled on the island of Antigua, West Indies, for many years where Margaret met and married Hudson George Williams, who is deceased.
Margaret is survived by five children and their spouses: Fitzroy Williams and Yvette Donadelle-Williams, Oswald and Essie Williams, Paget Williams, Phillip Rose and Bridget Williams, and attorney Pedro and Neomie Williams; two nephews and three nieces: Judge Jomo Meade, Thornton Reid, Cynthia Stevenson, Rhonda Reid and Denise Southwell; 26 grandchildren and their spouses: John and Kanya Moore, Khalid Williams, Khaunda and Nessa Hill, Darryian and Vashti Thomas, Ashley Rose, Sundiata Rose, attorney Kelsha Williams II and Carla Williams, Jenee Williams, Gabriel and Mellisa Rivera, Lateef and Alysia Williams, Rakeem and Veronica Dingle, Fitzroy Williams Jr. and Victoria Williams, Omar Fahie, Howell and Celeste Matthews, Daryl and Allyson Matthews, Jaharee Shephard, Jahzimba and Nyzimba Williams, Caprice, Kharima and Kendra Smith, LaShawnda and TaLisa Gray, and Owen Jackson II and Ricky Jackson Jr.
great-grandchildren: Amare and Zahir Moore, Khalfani, Kadian and Kaya Williams, Gabriel Rivera Jr., Kelsha Williams III, Kaleb Samuel Williams, Lateef Oswald Williams, Justin Solomon, Naseem, Rashaad and Jazziah Dingle, Autumn, Audreana and Akira Fahie, Malik, Nikysha, Aniqua, Shania, Tariq, Trey, D’quan, Deja, Justice and Jaida Matthews, Dwayne and James Turnbull, Jai’San, Na’Lisa and Aminah Smith, Diamond Yeno, Courtney Myles and Shawn Isaiah Hemphill, Iverson and James Jones, and Annalette, Nia, and Lyric Jackson; six great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives too numerous to mention.
