Lt. Governor Potter Encourages Property Owners to Submit Post Hurricane Form by July 28

Lieutenant Governor Osbert E. Potter urges property owners who sustained hurricane damages and are submitting the “Request for Post Hurricane Irma & Maria Information” for the first time, to pay their property taxes by the due date of July 28, 2018 and no later than September 28, 2018 to avoid delinquency.   If the Office of the Tax Assessor determines upon review of the information submitted that a change to the property owner’s 2018 valuation/bill is necessary, the bill will be adjusted and a credit will be issued on the next bill.

The form is available for download on the Office of the Lieutenant Governor’s website at http://ltg.gov.vi, or by calling the Office of the Tax Assessor at 340-774-2991 in St. Thomas/St. John, or 340-773-6449 in St. Croix.  Property owners are asked to provide dated pictures and other supporting documents with the forms.

Completed forms and supporting documentation must be submitted to the Office of the Tax Assessor in person, or via email to propertytaxreview@lgo.vi.gov or via U. S. Postal Service before July 28, 2018 at the following addresses:

Property tax bills may be paid online at the Office of the Lieutenant Governor’s website at https://propertytax.vi.gov. However, payment plans must still be made through the Office of the Tax Collector.
