Man Accused of Burglary and Assault Domestic Violence Charges Arrested on St. Croix Friday

A man on St. Croix was arrested in connection with an assault domestic violence incident that occurred in Aug., the V.I. Police Department reported Saturday.

Nazari Hazel, 23, was arrested Friday and charged with burglary, assault domestic violence, forcible and unlawful entry, possession of a dangerous weapon and disturbance of the peace, the police report stated.

In Aug., a female victim called 911 to report that her child’s father, Hazel, had entered her house without permission. While inside the house, a verbal altercation occurred and he allegedly armed himself with a knife from her kitchen and then assaulted the victim and several other family members with the knife, causing visible injuries to her right hand, according to the police report. 

Hazel provided a statement admitting to entering the victim’s residence without her permission and assaulting her with a knife. No bail was set and Hazel was transported to the John Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing, the police said.Â
