A St. Croix man was arrested Tuesday for the sexual assault of a female minor, the V.I. Police Department reported Tuesday.
On Aug. 24, a concerned citizen reported to VIPD that a girl was sexually assaulted by an adult male, Dante Edison James. Investigation into the case produced probable cause for a warrant for his arrest, according to the police report.
An arrest warrant was obtained and signed by a Magistrate Judge on Friday, the report stated.
On Monday, the arrest warrant was executed, and James, 26, was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree rape and visual medium, the report stated. Bail was set at $75,000. James was unable to post bail and was remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his advice of rights hearing scheduled for Wednesday, police said.
