Man Found Shot to Death in Estate Carlton

A man was shot and killed Tuesday evening in Estate Carlton on St. Croix, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The victim was identified by family members as 37-year-old Travis Blair of Estate Carlton. It was the 23rd homicide on St. Croix since the beginning of the year according to the Source homicide list* and the 29th in the territory.

According to police, at around 10:21 p.m. July 20 the 911 emergency call center received a report of an unresponsive adult male in a vehicle in Estate Carlton. Officers traveled to the area and found the man, later identified as Blair, had received multiple gunshot wounds and displayed no vital signs.

St. Croix District Chief of Police Sidney Elskoe appealed to community members to provide any information they may have about the incident.

“Unfortunate incidents like this never happen in a vacuum. Someone knows something that can assist our detectives to find who did this,” Elskoe said.
