Man Injured in Reported Shooting, CIB Investigating

An adult male was treated at Juan F. Luis hospital today after gunshots were discharged at his vehicle. The victim sustained a graze on his right forearm and an entrance wound to his right triceps. Both injuries are non-life-threatening, according to the attending physician at JFL.

According to the VIPD, at 9.55 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a ShotSpotter notification of eleven shots fired in the vicinity of the Estate Profit Ballpark.

After the call was received by the 911 Emergency Call Center, the ECC relayed over the police radio that a gunshot victim had been brought to the JFL emergency room. When the detectives arrived, they saw a white 2014 Dodge Journey with multiple bullet holes in the windshield, hood, and roof.

When detectives spoke with the victim, he stated he was on his way to his friend’s house south of Profit Ballpark. As he was driving, he heard shots being fired at his vehicle, at which point he tried to reverse his vehicle, but he struck a pole in the process.
