Marion Scialabba, 96, of Hillsborough, N.J., passed away peacefully on Aug. 13. She was born in New York City, New York, on May 12, 1924. Marion was married to Joseph Scialabba on June 15, 1947, in N.Y.C.
Marion first visited St. John in 1972 with her family, staying at the campgrounds in Cinnamon Bay. Her love of the island kept bringing her back, and in 1977, she and her husband purchased a piece of land. In 1980, they built a second home. Marion’s house was located above Mongoose Junction in Estate Enighed, and she resided there until 1990. While living on St. John, Marion worked at Caneel Bay Resort in reservations, along with Vera Powell.
Marion eventually returned to Hillsborough, N.J., where she remained until her passing.
