Michael Arnold Hague Dies

Michael Arnold Hague

Mike had a remarkable life story. Blind since birth, he was a gifted pianist who lived an active life. As the son of a navy captain, Mike lived in various military towns as a child. One of his fondest memories from his youth in Virginia Beach was of his mother driving him in her red Buick convertible daily to the Cavalier Beach Club pool.

He later enjoyed life in the islands with his brother, Jim, and Jim’s spouse, Lou, on St. Thomas, eventually moving to Pennsylvania near his cousin Darlene for a short time and recently settling back in Virginia Beach at Atlantic Shores. He loved the beach and enjoyed boogie boarding and swimming.

Mike is survived by his brothers: James Donald Hague (Lou) and Bruce Eliott Warner Hague (Sandra); nephews: Leigh W. Hague and Jeffrey B. Hague; niece, Jill H. Gifford; and a host of beloved cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Donald Hague; and mother, Olive “Sally” Hague.

A funeral service will be held at Star of the Sea Catholic Church, followed by a graveside memorial at Princess Anne Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Holy Family Church or the Center for Independent Living on St. Thomas.

H.D. Oliver in Virginia Beach is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements.
