Motorcycle Rider Dies in Collision on St. Thomas

 

A man on St. Thomas lost control of his motorcycle and struck an object Saturday evening, leading to his death, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a call at 5:30 p.m. Saturday that a motorcycle had crashed in Frenchtown near the Puma gas station, the report stated.

According to VIPD, the rider lost control of his motorcycle, struck an object, and was ejected from the bike. The motorcycle then struck another vehicle and caught fire; the motorcycle driver died at the scene, police said.

The VIPD Traffic Investigation Bureau is investigating the accident, the report stated.

The deceased will be identified pending next of kin notification, police said.
