Chelcher, a biology major who ran uncontested, earned the title of Miss UVI. Her platform, “A Crown Creates: Where Creativity Becomes Community,” focuses on fostering innovation, creativity, and meaningful student engagement. She will serve as one of the University’s official student ambassadors throughout the academic year.

“It is truly an honor to serve as Miss UVI,” said Chelcher. “I am excited to uplift my peers, inspire creativity, and make a meaningful impact across our campus.”

McCants, a junior Music Education major, earned the title of Mister UVI with a strong showing throughout the competition. His platform, “Amplifying Young Black Voices Through Music,” centers on using music to uplift identity, build confidence, and create visibility for young Black creatives.

“This competition reflects the very best of UVI—our students’ intellect, creativity, leadership, and deep connection to Caribbean culture,” said Jelani Smalls, director of Student Life and Engagement. “Micah and Ja’Herah exemplify the qualities of outstanding ambassadors, and we are confident they will represent the University with distinction.”

The University also recognizes all contestants for their dedication, preparation, and commitment to excellence throughout the competition.
