The National Organization of Black Elected Legislative (N.O.B.E.L.) Women recognized Senator Donna A. Frett-Gregory as a 2023 National Shining Star Award Honoree during its annual legislative conference on June 23. The award recognizes women whose causes greatly contribute to their communities. Sen. Frett-Gregory was nominated for her commitment to civic engagement and charitable causes and her impact on governmental relations.

“I am humbled and elated by this recognition. I go about my legislative and community work because of my love for my people, not with any expectation of being recognized for it,” said Frett-Gregory.

N.O.B.E.L. Women is an organization that through its membership has a long history of addressing the needs of communities nationwide. “Being recognized by women leaders from across the nation is a reminder that there are others getting up every day and working to build better communities. I thank those who nominated and voted for me on this national recognition. Congratulations to the other women who also shared the stage with me as 2023 Shining Star honorees: Ms. Symone Sanders, Ms. Yolanda-Cash Esq. and Ms. Paula Hoisington,” said Frett-Gregory.
