Nahim A. Themba died on Sunday, March 24.

He is preceded in death by his father, Stanley Ryan; sister, Ingrid Hanley; aunts: Eileen Green and Yvonne Woodley; and cousin, Travis Green.

He is survived by his mother, Edith Hanley; stepmother, Gillian Ryan; brothers: Alexander Buchanan Sr., Alphonso “Allie” Hanley and Kenrick Queeley; sisters: Shanda Queeley-Hanley and Maritza Queeley; uncles: Simeon Hendrickson, Egbert Hanley, Clarence Hendrickson and Mendez Woodley; aunts: Emelda and Joycelyn Woodley; cousins: Trevor and Lorna Green, Mirelva Simmonds, Jevon Hendrickson, Christine Rawlins, Joycelyn Ryan, Nova Lee and Wendy Phillip; nephews: Akil, Alexander Jr., Keith and Kevin Buchanan, Kamau Leitner, Ronrick Herbert and Carrick Queeley; nieces: Keisha Pope, Tinea Hanley, Shatwona Queeley and Sha-Tyrah Hanley and Alexis Buchanan; and brother-in-law, Torquil Hanley;

He is also survived by special family friends: Kathleen Williams and family, Vania Hackett and family, Gertude Parson and family, The Garden Street family, The entire Calvary Christian Academy and Calvary Baptist Church families, the former Prime Food family, Germaine Plaskett and family, Linda Carigo and family, Niles family, Kline family, family of Dale and Hyacinth Joseph, Jermaine and Jacklyn Ruan, Leticia Dore, the family of the late Nora and Eugene Fahie (where he resided from 1996 to present), Shirley, Willys, Beverly, Wade, Marsel, Selina, Laban (deceased), and Dereck Fahie, Gina and Cathy Clarke, Shakema and Kareem Glover, Jemoi and Jahnia Smith, Turnbull family (Calvin, Sonia, Suzette, Sello, Renesha, Shonte, Shamoi), the Queeley family (Jasmine Halliday, Gweneth Audain, Judith Queeley, Debbie and Paul Trotman, Shamelia Baptiste, Zhaquan and Zhane Halliday, Trevor, Trevreen, Trevesia and Trevlyn Queeley), the Members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Zeta XI Chapter, and many other family and friends too numerous to mention.

The family would like to express our gratitude for the outpouring of condolences expressed during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 19, at Calvary Baptist Church with viewing at 9 a.m. and services beginning at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow at Smith Bay Eastern Cemetery.

We kindly request that mourners wear an African-inspired design or attire in tribute to Nahim Themba. Thank you for your cooperation.
