Oriental Bank Launches New Campaign Offering More Options to Send Money

Oriental is launching a new campaign announcing that its clients with deposit accounts will have more options to send money in Puerto Rico and the US. Now, in addition to having access to Oriental’s People Pay service that allows them to send up to $2,000 to any bank in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, customers will have access to the ATH Móvil® service to send and receive money instantly, up to $500 per day in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands at those Institutions participating in the service.

“With this combo of ATH Móvil and People Pay, Oriental is the only bank on the islands that gives customers more options and flexibility to send money whenever they want, wherever they want in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the U.S. We continue to offer more options that make life easier for our customers. We know that we have less time to carry out personal tasks, which is why we want to simplify the lives of our clients,” said Idalis Montalvo, vice president of Marketing and Public Relations at Oriental.

To access ATH Móvil, customers must have a deposit account with an Oriental Mastercard®/ATH® debit card active in Oriental. Also, people can register a debit card from their savings accounts. If a person already has an account, the person must download the ATH Móvil application, click on the register button, and validate a cell phone number, email address and the number of your ATH® debit card linked to your bank account in Oriental.

Meanwhile, the People Pay service is integrated into Oriental’s Mobile Banking App; before using it, the customer must register for the service in Oriental Online Banking. To use People Pay, customers must have a checking or savings account with Oriental.

With ATH Móvil, the client can register up to five ATH debit cards in a profile; all transactions are in real-time and their use is free. In addition, the application allows a person to view the transaction history and is accessible for mobile devices with iOS and Android operating systems. With this application, the client can carry out the following transactions: send and receive money from people with the ATH Móvil service at participating Institutions and transfer between cards. In addition, customers can transfer to businesses and donate up to $1,500 per day to non-profit organizations in participating institutions.

Both services have high-level security measures to protect customer information and keep them safe from when they start using the service and throughout the transaction process. Still, it is everyone’s responsibility to stay vigilant and take security measures. Neither the bank nor ATH Móvil will call you to ask for personal or sensitive information.

In addition, the client must never provide the ATH Móvil validation codes to anyone or through a website. Likewise, if the client has the SecurLock® app with a registered Oriental card, they will be able to receive alerts of transactions carried out by ATH Móvil and monitor their transactions.
