Patricia A. Miller Dies in Georgia

Patricia A. Miller, affectionately called “Peachy” or “Norma” by her loved ones, departed her loving family on Aug. 25.

Patricia Miller was born on Dec. 3, 1936, to the late Hugh Wyllie and Vivian McDonald. She was born on the island of St. Vincent, West Indies, and moved to Trinidad, the country which she loved so dearly. In 1966, she then migrated to St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, where she raised her family, worked as a well-known seamstress, was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and lived life abundantly for 33 years before moving to Georgia with her daughter and grandchildren in 1999.

Patricia Miller was the matriarch of her family, nurturing mother and grandmother, loving aunt, confidant and counselor to a host of family members and friends. To know her, was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother; mother and father; aunts: Irene Miguel and Hulda McDonald; sisters: Marilyn Jobe, Annette Bowens Layne and Val Wyllie; brother, Harvey Jacob; and closest sister-friend, Genor Hazelwood.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan A. Martin; stepson, Wayne Miller (Pam Miller); and granddaughters: Keya Martin-Blasingame (Bobbiedee Blasingame), Shelby Cuencas (Dwight A. Chambers II) and Shaemeka Miller.

She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Keyshawn Ward, Kensington Blasingame, Karrington Blasingame, Keyari Chambers, Samantha Chambers, Dominic Chambers, Daniel Chambers and Darian Chambers; aunt, Marie Huggin; sisters: Carol McDonald, Janet Alexis, Rosemarie McDonald, Eileen Wyllie and Shirley Wyllie; dear cousin, Moreen Watts; and a host of many nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
