It was a beautiful day in Frederiksted on St. Croix at the 2024 Food Fair that brought culture, music, and food, of course, to the waterfront on Wednesday.
Food vendors with packed lines could be seen on different corners near Fort Frederik. Patrons were not bothered by the wait because they came to taste local delicacies from different vendors.
Sugar cane was being juiced and coconuts were cut open with machetes on the spot.
Vendors served food in madras headpieces, while some were dressed in full madras. The Rising Stars Steel Orchestra beat their steel pans as onlookers enjoyed the music. While a DJ played music in the bandstand.
A cruise ship was also in port and visitors were able to enjoy delicious food and culture.
Also spotted were Miss St. Croix Na’Zirah Armstrong and Jr. Miss St. Croix Alayah Watley, who both won for the 2023-2024 Festival Season.
