The 53rd annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade painted the town of Christiansted, St. Croix, green on Saturday.

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is an event where everyone becomes an honorary Irishman just for the day.
The parade started at Fort Christiansvaern, led onto Company Street, turned onto King Street and came back to Fort Christiansvaern.

Thousands of people, some of whom traveled for spring break and from different parts of the country, wore green costumes, customized shirts, and other accessories in green.

Paradegoers could be seen dancing, cheering, patronizing vendors, and having fun. They could also be seen sitting on windowsills, on the steps of churches, balconies, and at Government House while troops threw gold chocolate coins and beads.

Some of the parade entries included the St. Croix Majorettes, the St. Croix Educational Complex Dance Squad, the Guardians of Culture Moko Jumbies, and many more.

After the parade, the crowds were welcomed to the Christiansted waterfront to listen to bands, eat food from restaurants, listen to different DJs, and enjoy other entertainment.
St. Patrick’s Day activities went on well into the night.
