A prom for people with special needs was sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation and choreographed by the St. Croix Christian Church, Caribbean Getaways, and others. Guests in their finery and their families came out to celebrate at the St. Croix Montessori School Friday night.
Forty-five VIPs and 200 caregivers started the gala with a walk on the red carpet, and were cheered on by fans.
Before the main event, guests primped with makeup, manicures and a variety of costume hats. A fancy sit-down dinner was available when hunger pangs took over.
Karaoke in a separate room featuring steamers, flashing lights, backup singers, and dancers was the most popular extracurricular entertainment. Most performers clearly had practiced their vocals and dance moves before hand.
Each guest was given a corsage or boutonniere upon entering the big dance in the auditorium.
There were soft lights, shimmering decorations, and food and drink as guests dressed in their best dresses and suits danced to “DJ Rad Dad” Robert Raffle upbeat music. One young man showed off his steps and was appreciated by the crowd.
