*Update* Missing St. John Man Found, Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges

On October 18 at around 10:30 p.m., police located 33-year-old Lubens Besse of Suzannaberg, who was reported missing on October 14. He was located in Red Hook, St. Thomas. Besse was previously wanted for assaulting his girlfriend on October 11. After being transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center for medical evaluation, he was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Assault, Domestic Violence. Besse was not offered bail, as per the territory’s domestic violence laws. He was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his Advice of Rights hearing.

The Virgin Islands Police Department has asked for the community’s help in locating 33-year-old Lubens Besse, who was reported missing since Oct. 11 by his girlfriend.

Besse is a Black male, standing about 6 feet in height and weighing between 250 and 260 pounds. His hair is black in long dreadlocks.

Lubens has several tattoos: a tattoo behind his left ear reads “Lucky me”; one on his right hand reads “Light Work”; his right wrist has the Flower of Life with small circles that touch each other above the flower; his left hand displays “777”; his left, inner arm has something written in Haitian; and a tattoo on his left outer forearm has a Hebrew scripture.

He was last seen around Oct. 11 at his residence in Susannaberg. Besse’s vehicle was discovered in Coral Bay on Oct. 13.
