Our flower has withered and returned to her maker. With extreme sadness, we announce to the world that Primrose Cordillia Beatrice Joseph, aka “Grandma,” “Ms. Quinn,” “Prim” and “Mrs. Joseph,” transitioned on Sunday, Dec. 4. Primrose was a former employee of Queen Louise Home for Children, Excelsior Bar & Restaurant, owner and the operator of UVI-STX Snack Bar for over 20 years, and SCSEP Senior Community Services Employment Program (Eulalie R. Rivera and YRC). Prim was also an active member of the Richmond Senior Center, which she loved and looked forward to every weekday.

In her absence, she leaves to mourn her, her husband, Vivian Petrie Joseph; children: Gary Joseph, Bertrum Joseph, Noreen Joseph-Etienne, Denise A. Arthurton, E. “Buchie” Joseph and Ernestine Joseph; son-in-law, Dave D. Arthurton Sr.; daughters-in-law: Audrey Joseph and Sheila Joseph; grandchildren/ caregivers: Adeja Huertas-Williams and Dianna E. Arthurton; and grandchildren: Alehna Rivera-Cameron, Dave D. Arthurton Jr., Denzel Finney, Dante Etienne, Kelah and Kaylah Joseph, Darlene Joseph, Marcus Joseph Hancock, Amanda Joseph, Gary Joseph Jr., Quintina and Clarence Joseph Jr., Melanie Garcia, Desiree Arthurton, Shakeelah Williams, and Isejah and Sibali Joseph.

She is survived by children-in-love: Bernadette Ephraim, Astrill and Althea Joseph, Petrie and John Joseph, Charmaine Joseph, Chantelle and Shaquille Joseph and Juanita Rawlins; grandchildren-in-love: Okolo Donaldson; Josiah, Kathleen and Alexandria Bethel; Jeremy and Anthon Grey, Tenisha, Antoine, Jamoi, Shaquan and Jeremiah Joseph, and Dimitri Joseph; great-grandchildren: Shamarie Hernandez, Jer’Maya and Joseph Williams, Maribel Arthurton, Aria Cameron, Landen Finney, Je’Quan, Je’Nyra, Re’Anna, Rayel, Rayneicia, Jahnoi, Ke’Jahnie, Ke’Mahnie, Kay’ Naiah, Kay’Nahi, Deltonnio, Deomannie, Divinya, Dazaire, Javohun Ferris, Justina Hughes, Shaquan Joseph, Clarissa, Christina, Clarence III and Unique Joseph; and sister-in-law, Heather Henry.

She is also survived by nieces: Debbie Stevens and Joycelyn Quinn (ANU); nephews: Val, Vincy and Vaughn Destin; Whitmore Quinn (ANU); best friend/cousin, Margerita Reynolds; close friends: Amialyn Augustus, Kathleen Buchanan, Andrea Jensen, Carol Huggins, Ms. Maynard, Enid Arthurton, Olga, Marcia Williams and family, Ms. Brathwaite, Christine, Janet Wilson, Ms. Martin, Ms. Treasure and family, Retha-Mae Hancock, Rosanna “Rosie” and Daniel “Larry” Shoy, Jose Huertas, Angelita “Helita” Encarnacion, Debbie Ross and Heather Carty; and adopted children: Grisha Matthews, Elizabeth Allen, Amialyn Augustus, Dianna C. and Deseree Arthurton, Addison and Benu James, Dennis Arthurton, Estica Caesar, Glenda McKenzie and family, Dennis Carter, James, Elroy and Coretta Bates, Cheryl Marley, James Bethel and Kara Mason.

The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 38-44 Estate Castle Coakley, Christiansted, V.I. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
