The May issue of Professional Pilot magazine, which was released on Friday, names Standard Aviation St. Thomas the number one fixed-base operator (FBO) in the Caribbean. This prestigious honor is awarded annually by voters in the Preferences Regarding Aviation Services and Equipment (PRASE) survey, which requires pilots to submit aircraft type-rating(s) to confirm a vote. With 10.00 being a perfect score, Standard Aviation received an average rating of 9.52.

Virgin Islands Port Authority Executive Director, Carlton Dowe, who oversees the territory’s airports said, “On behalf of the Port Authority, we wish to congratulate the Standard Aviation team for this accomplishment. Their commitment to high-level customer service, brings more positive light to St. Thomas as the ideal Caribbean destination for visitors traveling via private jet to the territory.”

This year’s PRASE survey was the 48th annual issued by Professional Pilot magazine, a staple publication in the aviation industry. More than 800 ballots were completed by pilots, submitting ratings in six categories: line team, customer service representatives, facility, amenities, promptness/efficiency and value for price. Since opening the expansive facility at Cyril E. King Airport in July 2020, this is the first time Standard Aviation has been named to the esteemed list.

“We are extremely proud of our team for providing the elite customer service to garner this award from pilots,” said Standard Aviation LLC member Shaun Miller. “To see our world-class facility in the U.S. Virgin Islands recognized as the best in the Caribbean, is truly an honor.”

In addition to the recent Professional Pilot award, the Standard Aviation team was honored in the above and beyond section of the Aviation International News FBO survey, published in the April issue. Standard Aviation was one of only two FBOs in The Americas edition to receive multiple mentions in the survey results.
