Terry Pishko discussed the Fish Bay Native Plant Garden with Friends of VINP seminar participants.
From Kismet to the Fish Bay Native Plant Garden, residents got a close look at several local gardens during the Friends of V.I. National Park’s Garden Tour seminar on Saturday, March 19.
Led by local gardening enthusiast Irene Patton, a group of 15 met at 10 a.m. and began the day with a tour of the Native Plant Garden in Estate Fish Bay. Chuck and Terry Pishko and Allan Weinstock led the group on a tour and discussed the advantages of preserving native trees on their properties.
After the native plants, the group toured Sea Side, Miles and Susan Stair’s Estate Chocolate Hole home. Lunch at Mongoose Junction was followed by a tour of Glen and Rhada Speer’s nearby garden. The seminar wrapped up with a tour of the tropical garden at the luxury villa Kismet in Great Cruz Bay.
Friends continues to host its seminar series through April and a second garden tour is scheduled for Saturday, April 2. Other seminars in April include a snorkeling adventure in the mangroves with
Caroline Rogers on April 3, a sea turtle sail on April 8 and Taino pottery making on April 16.
