Roach Advises Public of Resumption of Expedited Passport Acceptance Facilities

Government of the United States Virgin Islands

Lt. Gov. Tregenza A. Roach Esq. advises the public that, effective today the Office of the Lieutenant Governor’s Passport Acceptance Facilities on St. Thomas and St. Croix will resume processing expedited applications.

“Services for routine applications of new passports and passport renewals resumed at our Passport Acceptance Facilities in June. However, at that time expedited services were unavailable. Residents can now request expedited service, which has a 4 to 6-week processing time from the date of application. Routine service follows a 10 to 12-week processing time from the date of application,” said Roach.

In an effort to continue to serve residents and mitigate the spread of the coronavirus and in adherence to guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Virgin Islands Department of Health, all persons entering lobbies of passport facilities will be required to wear a mask or face covering. Social distancing guidelines will also be followed.

Passport applications can be found online at www.travel.state.gov and can be downloaded and completed in advance to facilitate local applications. Customers can check the status of their application online or by calling the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778.

For general questions and additional information, customers may call the Passport Acceptance Facilities in the St. Thomas-St. John District at 774-2991 or at 773-6449 for the St. Croix District.
