Royston Stanfield Vanterpool, also known as “Brahcha,” died on Dec. 19. He was 72 years old.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Vanderpool; and William Stoddard.
He is survived by his spouse: Iona Vanterpool: daughter: Tinamarie Vanterpool; sons: Leroy Vanterpool and Elroy Vanterpool; grandchildren: Cori Vanterpool, Ely Vanterpool, Domineque Vanterpool, Zoe Vanterpool, Chelsea White, Dymond Vanterpool, Dejia Sanders, Ty Vanterpool, Jimmy Sanders, Quintin Vanterpool and Aidan Vanterpool; great-grandchildren: Evander Vanterpool, Pricillia Garcia, Istells Garcia and Nathaniel Cox; and sisters: Violet Vanderpool and Rita Stoddard.
He is also survived by brothers: Shaun Fraites and Denzil Payne; nieces: Monya Vanderpool, Kishma Pickering, Simone Stoddard, Lorie Stoddard, Taahira Payne, Shannel Proctor, NaTashia Hatchett, Toni Garner, Ellita Williams-Bellamy and Bronte Fraites; and nephews: Michael Vanderpool, Michael Payne, Arondai Payne, Qarly Payne, Aalim Payne, Ijazz Payen, Tehan Payen and Anthony Hatchett Jr.
Other survivors include great nieces: Mikayla Rose and Zuri-Elyse Christian; great nephew, Jayden Armstrong; daughters-in-law: LaChaunta Vanterpool and Erin Vanterpool; sisters-in-law: Frances Penn, Lorraine Parris, Linda P. Carty, Loretta P. Williams and Idalin Parris-Wattkins; special friends: Elmando “Shaggy” Lanclos and Lisa M. Alejandro; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The viewing will take place at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at James Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
