Samuel Anthony Freeman Dies at 89

Samuel Anthony Freeman, affectionally known as “Sam,” “C-2,” “Mr. Sam,” “Freeman,” “Grandpa,” “Three for Two for One,” “Trouble” and “Number One,” of Estate Sion Farm died peacefully to be with his Lord on Nov. 20 at the age of 89.

He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Freeman and mother, Elizabeth Freeman of St. Paul, Nevis.

He is survived by his adopted daughter and caregiver, Yvette Ballantine-Phillips; adopted grandson, Aaron Phillips; adopted son-in-law, Ronald Phillips; and nephew, Gregory Freeman.

He is also survived by his many special friends: Linda Mohammed, Jackie Carr and family, Rita Dawson, Mary Abbott, Ingrid Williams, Harvel Samuel,  Devin James-Talib, Denise Wilkins, Lynthia Powell, Mr. and Mrs. Eustace Rose, Louisa Hanley and family, Ovena, Shavena and Tameka Hood, Avril Shervington, Madona Abraham, Heleter George, Oriolla Wedgeworth, Maakheru, Barbara Knight, Amorite Connor, Anita Parson, Lavern Bailey, Yaneidy Rivera, Ana Robles, Linda Romain, Wanda and Edwin Brooks, Marcia Williams, James Ballantine, Lynette Ballantine, Delita, Janice Thomas, Bernadette Vacher, Angel Luis Simon and family, Mary “P” Thomas, Serafin and Uma Rodriguez, Josolyn Rodriquez, Velendez and Tricia Phillip, Jaslyn Scatlife, Natalie Moorehead, Thelma Lewis, Judy Rodriguez, Mytle Fredricks,  Letisha Rodney, Valerie Richardson, Levincia Bartlette-Nero; and a host of other friends too numerous to mention.

We will gather to celebrate Samuel’s life and honor his memory. The viewing will be at 9 a.m. and the service at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 8, at the Ebenezer Methodist Church in Estate Richmond, Christiansted, V.I.
