Samuel M. Soanes of Old Castle, Coakley, died on June 27. He was 81 years old.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janetta Soanes; parents: Wilfred and Gertrude Soanes; and siblings: Eileen Davis, Christoline Soanes, Roy Henry, Arthur Soanes and Wickliffe Soanes.
He is survived by his son, Roy Soanes; step-daughters: Idena, Sylvia, Thelma and Lorina; stepson, Philbert Sampson; daughter-in-law, Hope Soanes; grandchildren: Skye Anne Soanes, Shye Anne Soanes and Samuel Soanes II; sister, Gurlie Joseph; and sister-in-law, Gwendoline Soanes.
He is also survived by nieces: Julie and Julia Davis, Gloria and Natalie Joseph, Joycelyn, Dawn, Velma, Olandia and Beverly Soanes; nephews: Uriel Henry, Sylvester and Keithroy Davis, John Joseph, Clarence and Stevie Soanes; cousins: Margery Stevens, Ellinora Davis and Veronica Spencer; as well as other relatives and friend too numerous to mention.
The viewing and tributes will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Monday July 8, at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
