Schedule Updates for Crucian Christmas Festival

Schedule updates for the 2023-2024 Crucian Christmas Festival have been announced, according to the V.I. Tourism Department and Division of Festivals.
The Calypso Monarch competition scheduled for Dec. 27 at the Festival Village has been canceled, according to the press release.
“As a staple of the Crucian Christmas Festival tradition, it is unfortunate that we are unable to move forward with this year’s planned event,” expressed Joseph Boschulte, commissioner of Tourism. “Following efforts by the Division of Festivals leadership to coordinate with the St. Croix Calypsonian leadership, the ultimatum given by the group left our team no choice but to shift instead of risk having an empty night in the village.”
Dec. 27 will now shift to host the first-ever Children’s Night, featuring entertainment and events for the youngest members of the St. Croix community, the press release stated.
“We are excited to host this extraordinary night, celebrating the community’s youth, providing them with an opportunity to experience the village with aspects dedicated to their enjoyment,” added Shamari Haynes, assistant director of Festivals.
