Senator to Host Town Hall on Bill to Establish Official V.I. Madras Design

Senator Jackson, chairman of the Committee on Culture, Historic Preservation and Aging, invites the public to attend the last of a series of townhall meetings in both districts to discuss Bill 33-0226: An Act amending Title 1, chapter 7 of the Virgin Islands Code, to establish the official madras of the Virgin Islands of the United States.

The last meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 2, at the Cleone Henrietta Creque Legislative Conference Room at the Legislature in Cruz Bay, St. John. These meetings follow a hearing on the proposed measure last December before the Committee on Culture, Historic Preservation and Aging. The bill was favorably approved and moved to the Committee on Rules and Judiciary for further consideration.

All are welcome to attend. This town hall follows others held on St. Croix and St. Thomas last week. For more information, call 693-3519.
