St. Croix Man Assaulted and Robbed at Service Station

A St. Croix man was assaulted and robbed by several men at a service station on St. Croix Friday. Two men allegedly involved have been arrested, the V.I. Police Department reported.

On Friday, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a disturbance in progress at the Falcon Service Station in Peter’s Rest. Responding officers met with the victim, who was badly beaten and subsequently transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital for medical treatment as a result of his injuries, according to the police report.

An investigation into the assault revealed that the victim was inside the service station when he was confronted and assaulted by several men. The victim was dragged out of the service station, where the assault continued, and then he was robbed of his gold jewelry and cellular phone, the police report stated.

Members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau also made contact with the victim, who
disclosed what had occurred. Further investigation into the incident revealed that the victim was assaulted and robbed by several men, two of whom have been identified on video as Glen David and Jareem Tutein, the report stated.

David and Tutein, both 27 years old, were taken into custody by detectives without incident. They were advised of their Miranda Rights and declined to give a statement. They were charged with robbery second-degree, assault third, and larceny, with bail set at $50,000. They were booked and remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending their advice of rights hearing, police said.
