St. John Coastal Zone Management Scheduled for Wednesday, May 24

Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources

Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources informs the public that the St. John Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Committee meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m., Wednesday, May 24. this meeting will be held via the video conferencing platform Zoom.

The agenda is as follows:

Public Hearing (public testimony will be heard)

Federal Consistency Determination No. CZM0004-23 has been submitted by the Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funded project proposes installing a temporary modular building with all related appurtenances. The proposed project site is located at No. 11 Estate Carolina, St. John, Virgin Islands.

Federal Consistency Determination, CZM0006-23, has been submitted by the Federal Highway Administration in cooperation with the National Park Service. The project proposes to repair storm damage along the Lyne House Access Road. The proposed project site is in the Virgin Islands National Park along Route 0413, St. John, Virgin Islands.

Furthermore, plans for the proposed projects are on file for review by appointment only at the Department of Planning and Natural Resources, Division of Coastal Zone Management, located at 4611 Tutu Park Mall Suite 300, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands (774-3320) between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., except holidays.

Properly signed statements concerning the proposed project addressed to the undersigned will become part of the hearing record. Written statements must be submitted by May 30 via email to czm@dpnr.vi.gov.
