St. John Eye Care Coming Soon To Boulon Center Site

St. John Eye Care will open in the former St. John Drug Center location.

In April, St. John residents will no longer have to go to St. Thomas for eye care thanks to optometrist Craig Friedenberg who will be opening St. John Eye Care at the old St. John Drug Center location in the Boulon Center.

Friedenburg, a St. Thomas resident for 26 years, owned his own eye care facility in 1983, but joined Pearle Vision in 1988. Now, the optometrist is ready to get back into the solo business.

“I am going back to being a solo practitioner to do things the way I want to,” said Frieden-berg. “I’ve always wanted to go to St. John. I looked at the space and knew it would be great.”

“There are five parking spaces and it’s right on the road,” Friedenberg added.

The Boulon Center location is also ideal for patients travelling over from St. Thomas and the British Virgin Islands, Friedenberg added.

“My clients from St. Thomas and Tortola can easily walk up from the ferry dock or Customs’ building,” said Friedenberg. “I will even pay for ferry tickets and lunch for my off-island patients on their first visit.”

St. John Eye Care will be open six days a week, with Friedenberg in the office five of those days  including every Saturday, Friedenburg said.

The facility will offer the full range of eye care needs including accurate prescriptions and competent referrals, he added.
