Public Works Department construction crews, with help from other agencies, are busy constructing a stage for the swearing-in of Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. and Lt. Gov. Tregenza Roach to their second term in office on Monday at Emancipation Garden on St. Thomas.

Three days of activities — all free and open to the public — are planned starting Monday to commemorate the re-election of Bryan and Roach, according to the Gubernatorial Inaugural Committee.

On St. Thomas, the official swearing-in ceremony, followed by a military parade, commences at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Emancipation Garden. A reception will follow at 2 p.m. at Fort Christian, and the Legacy Inaugural Ball will be held starting at 7 p.m. at Yacht Haven Grande.

Shuttle service will be provided to the evening gala from the Schneider Regional Medical Center and Fort Christian parking lots, according to the committee.

Tickets to the inaugural balls on Monday on St. Thomas and Wednesday on St. Croix are free but on a first-come, first-served basis, until all spaces are filled. To check availability, visit inaugurationvi23.com.

On Tuesday at noon, St. John will welcome the governor and lieutenant governor at the Frank Powell Sr. Park in Cruz Bay, with a reception at Meada’s Garden at 2 p.m.

An open house at Arthur Abel Complex is at 2 p.m. The inaugural ball, at 8 p.m., will be held at the Polo Grounds, Estate Cane Garden, Christiansted, according to the release.

The official swearing-in ceremony on Monday will be carried live from St. Thomas by WTJX-TV at 10:30 a.m. and will be live-streamed on several radio stations, and at facebook.com/visource, facebook.com/bryanroach2022, youtube@bryanroach2022, and on the Government Access cable TV channel 27.
