Update: Third Man Arrested in Stolen Scooters Scandal

VIPD arrested a third man for stealing two scooters from a business on St. Thomas, the V.I. Police Department reported.

On Friday, Jerry Smith, 18, of Rendezvous, St. John was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and grand larceny, according to the police report.

Smith was unable to post bail of $25,000 and was turned over to the Bureau of Corrections, pending further court action, the police report stated.

Jan. 19, 3:28 p.m.

Two men were arrested on St. Thomas Thursday for stealing two scooters, the V.I. Police Department reported.

On Oct. 22, 2023, the victim and business owner reported to police that two of his
scooters were unlawfully removed from his business. Video surveillance footage and
testimonies led to the identification of the two suspects, according to the police report.

On Thursday, Ja’Fari Sekou O’Marley Todman of Hospital Ground, St. Thomas, and Kahden Daniels of Estate Bellevue, St. John, both 18 years old were arrested by the Criminal Investigation Bureau and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and grand larceny, the police report stated.

Todman and Daniels were processed and unable to post bail of $25,000 and they were turned over to the Bureau of Corrections, pending further court action, the report stated.
