May 18

911 Call Center was advised about a robbery that had just taken place at St. John Bracelet located in Cruz Bay, St. John. At approximately 1:53 pm, two unknown men entered the jewelry store and while inside, one of the men discharged a shot, striking the owner in the face. Both men later exited the business with an unknown amount of jewelry and fled the scene. The victim was later transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment.

 

May 21

The 911 Call Center received notification of shots fired and a man down on Prince Street, Christiansted in the vicinity of Big Master. Upon officers’ arrival, they discovered the remains of a Black man. EMS was notified and, upon arrival, found no signs of life. The deceased man was identified by his next of kin as 29-year-old Robinson Ramirez Robles.

Sunday, May 21

ShotSpotter received notifications of shots fired in Mutual Homes. While dispatching units to Mutual Homes, 911 Emergency Call Center received a report from a woman who reported her brother was shot and appeared to be dead. Upon the arrival of the officers and investigators, they observed the lifeless body of a Black man who was later identified by his next of kin as 24-year-old Jamari Gardener. He appeared to have been shot multiple times to his body and succumbed to his injuries. EMS was present and checked for signs of life and found none. A canvass of the area was made in an attempt to locate possible witnesses with negative results; however, numerous shell casings were retrieved.
