The Market St. Croix and St. Thomas has donated over 700 chocolate chip cookies to be distributed to all employees of the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services (DHS) territory-wide in celebration of National Cookie Day, which occurs on Dec. 4.

Commissioner Kimberley Causey-Gomez said, “As a community, we are extremely grateful for the pubic-private partnership with The Market. The Market, St. Croix and St. Thomas (https://www.themarketvi.com/) has been a great supporter of DHS and the employees who serve about 40,000 Virgin Islanders every day. DHS employees touch the lives from our littlest people to our elderly through our 84 programs. Thank you, Wally, Mafi, Shawn and Willy of the Hamed family, owners of The Market, for ‘Working Together to Make a Difference.’”

This year has been a difficult one for many in our community and the nation due to the pandemic. It is the season of gratitude and giving, and if you or your business are inclined to do so this year, DHS is graciously accepting donations on behalf of our clients.
