Town Meeting Scheduled March 5 To Overview Government Operations

Senator at Large Carmen Wesselhoft will conduct meetings beginning February 29 on all three islands to overview operations of V.I. government agencies handling of public safety and homeland security.

The St. John meeting will be Monday, March 5, at 10 a.m. at the Legislature Building in Cruz Bay.

It is essential to hear from these agencies in order to assess their needs and establish priorities in terms of funding and police, according to Wesselhoft, who is the chairwoman of the 27th Legislature’s Committee on Public Safety, Homeland Security and Justice.

Representatives from the Police Department, Fire Services, VITEMA, Bureau of Corrections, Port Authority, Justice Department and Superior Court have been invited to attend.
