Just one day after a structural fire was reported on St. Croix, a fire was reported Monday morning on St. John, the V.I. Fire and Emergency Medical Services reported.

The 911 Call Center dispatched the VIFEMS to respond to a reported structural fire. Within 10 minutes, two units from Romeo Co. and an ambulance arrived at 13B Hard Labor on St. John, according to the VIFEMS report.

When responding crews arrived, they found a single-story residence engulfed in flames. An additional unit responded from the Zulu Co. The fire was completely extinguished within 45 minutes, preventing further damage to the surrounding neighborhood, the VIFEMS report stated.

The fire significantly damaged the structure. Despite the devastation, all occupants were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported, the report stated.

An investigation into the fire’s origin is in progress, and a comprehensive examination of the incident will occur to prevent future occurrences. Due to the structural damages, the American Red Cross of the Virgin Islands was contacted to support and assist the occupants impacted, VIFEMS said.
