Two Men Charged in Havensight Robbery

On Jan. 14, at 12:34 p.m., police arrested Jaquin Phipps, age 25, and Demoi Barrow, age 22, both of Lovenlund Apartments on St. Thomas.

They were charged with 1st-degree robbery, 2nd-degree robbery, 1st-degree assault, 3rd-degree assault, grand larceny, simple assault, and brandishing, exhibiting, or using deadly weapons.

According to the VIPD, Phipps and Barrow were charged in connection with an incident that happened in Havensight on Dec. 4, 2021, where a male victim was robbed of jewelry at gunpoint. 

Bail was set at $75,000 for both Phipps and Barrow. Both men were unable to post bail and were therefore remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending their Advice of Rights hearings.

St. Thomas/St. John/Water Island Chief of Police Barrington Thomas, Sr. commended the work of detectives investigating this incident, resulting in the arrests. “Criminals must know that our officers will stop at nothing to bring them to justice. We thank the community for the support as we work together to make our home safe,” Chief Thomas said.

This case remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
