Two STX Murders and a STX Robbery Are Crime Stoppers Crimes of the Week

On March 9, 2021, at 7:58 pm, the 911 call center received a call of shots being fired in the Oswald Harris Housing Community. Units from the Richard N. Callwood Command and units from the Criminal Investigation Bureau traveled to the scene and discovered an unresponsive Black man on the ground. The man reportedly appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Emergency Medical Technicians found he had no vital signs. A family member identified the man as thirty-five-year-old Akeem Dore.

On February 2, 2022 at 8:32 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to the One Love Service Station in La Grande Princesse to a reported robbery in progress. The gas station employee on duty at the time, along with a customer, reported to police that two slim Black men, masked and armed, entered the establishment demanding cash. Both suspects fled the area on foot with about $100 in cash, according to police. No one was injured during the incident.

On July 4, 2021, the decomposed body of an adult male was found in an apartment in Estate Peter’s Rest. The autopsy disclosed the victim had been shot multiple times. The victim has been identified as Michael Scott, age 48 of Estate Peter’s Rest. This case is also being investigated as a homicide by the VIPD Major Crimes Unit.
