The University of the Virgin Islands Basketball Classic is slated to run from Oct. 26-28 at the Sports and Fitness Center on St. Thomas. The UVI Classic will feature Xavier University, Keiser University and the University of the Virgin Islands.
The UVI Basketball Classic will get off to a start on Friday, Oct. 26, when Xavier University’s Gold Rush will face Keiser University’s Seahawks. At 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, Keiser University’s Seahawks will face the University of the Virgin Islands’ Buccaneers. The final match of the UVI Classic will begin at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, when Gold Rush will compete against the Buccaneers.
Xavier University hails out of New Orleans, La. In 2017-2018, Xavier made it to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) tournament and ranked 22nd nationally.
Keiser University hails out of West Palm Beach, Fla. They also made it to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) tournament in 2017-2018 at which they ranked 25th nationally.
The University of the Virgin Islands community and the public are invited to attend and show Buccaneer pride in support of the men’s basketball team.
The admission is $5 for age 13 and above, and $3 for age 12 and under.
