October is National Arts & Humanities Month, which is a coast-to-coast recognition of the importance of culture in America. This year, the Virgin Islands Council on the Arts (VICA) will celebrate this month by hosting a children’s book-reading event by local authors Yohance Henley and Rick Grant.
The St. Croix event will take place from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at the St. Croix Dorsch Center in Frederiksted, The St. Thomas event will take place from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at Tutu Park Mall.
Both will feature storytelling, free book giveaways, bounce houses, face painting, children’s games and live music. For more information, contact VICA at 774-5984.
