The VI Justice Initiative is a locally grown legal aid organization providing free legal representation and community-driven advocacy.

The 4th Annual Harvest Festival & Pumpkin Patch fundraiser raises funds to provide:

  • Free attorneys for everyone who needs an expungement;
  • Free legal representation for non-profits;
  • Attorneys in the classroom for our youth to learn that engaging in criminal behavior can limit their ability to earn money in the future; and
  • Class actions and impact litigation by Virgin Islanders.

The VI Justice Initiative is the only 501(c)(3) legal education and defense fund founded and focused in the Virgin Islands. It is the only organization in the Virgin Islands providing these services. Without the VI Justice Initiative, the needs would go unmet.

The VI Justice Initiative’s 4th Annual Harvest Festival & Pumpkin Patch is a free community event that weaves traditional agricultural elements and fall activities that are perfect for families with children. The purpose of this event is to create a fun family-oriented activity that lets the community know about the free services that the VI Justice Initiative offers. This event includes:

  • Pumpkin Patch
  • Tractor Hayride
  • Kids’ Zone
  • Community Fair
  • DJ Dell and youth performances

To visit the Harvest Festival & Pumpkin Patch, enter Magens Bay and go all of the way down to the left past Shed 4. Purchase your $5 ticket to ride the Tractor Hayride through the Arboretum. Kids 10 and under must ride with an adult. Next, choose the perfect pumpkin in the Pumpkin Patch for $20, which includes access to a free a station for carving or painting. Your family will love the Kids’ Zone with a giveaway Coloring & Activity Book, free face painting, and interactive games featuring the Virgin Islands Children’s Museum and Tropical Treasure Hunt.

You don’t want to miss the Community Fair featuring local vendors, businesses, and non-profit community partners. Exclusive handmade fall and pumpkin-themed snacks will be on sale by local vendors, including youth vendors ages 20 and younger. Enjoy music by DJ Dell and youth performances by Shen Dragon Dojo and MLB School of Dance. This event is free with just the cost of admission to Magens Bay.

It’s more than a Pumpkin Patch and Tractor Hayride…

The VI Justice Initiative’s fundraising goal for this event is $35,000, to continue to provide free attorneys for every person eligible to have their criminal record cleared in the Virgin Islands. All donations received through the purchase of $5 Tractor Hayride tickets, $20 pumpkins in our Pumpkin Patch, donations made in person or at vijustice.org go to support the VI Justice Initiative’s Clean Slate Program.

Major sponsors include Perfected Claims, RapierMed, International Capitol and Management Company, FirstBank, Island Booksellers, Yacht Haven Grande, St. Thomas Properties, Merchants Commercial Bank, Magens Bay Authority, Keswick Insurance, and the Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
